Wrug is an Associate Director at PAAMCO. He is a portfolio manager of Event Driven Equity strategies including merger arbitrage, shareholder activism and value-with-catalysts. In addition to his portfolio management responsibilities, Wrug is responsible for servicing several large client relationships, training new associates, and developing tools and databases that inform investment decisions.
Prior to joining PAAMCO, Wrug was an Associate at JER Partners, an opportunistic Real Estate Private Equity firm, where he was responsible for the acquisition and asset management of hospitality and for-sale residential assets. Wrug was an integral part of a four-person team that underwrote; asset managed and syndicated the $2.2 billion LBO transaction of a publicly-traded hotel REIT, Highland Hospitality.
Wrug began his career as an Analyst at Deutsche Bank’s Real Estate Investment Banking group where he executed M&A advisory and capital raising transactions primarily for gaming and lodging clients. Among his key transaction experience at Deutsche Bank is the sale of a global 38-hotel portfolio from Starwood Hotels and Resorts to Host Hotels and Resorts for $4.2 billion in 2006.
Wrug graduated magna cum laude from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University with a BS in Finance and Accounting and received an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where his academic focus was on Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences.
Wrug is a board member of the Georgetown University Alumni Club of Orange County and is actively involved with Georgetown University athletics and undergraduate admissions.
A proud Washington DC native, Wrug now lives in Costa Mesa, CA with his wife of eight years and newborn daughter.
